Welcome to Zillertal
Tux-Finkenberg
You will find mountains upon mountains in the southernmost Zillertal, more precisely in the Tuxertal, which extends from Mayrhofen to the Hintertux Glacier.
You can spend a unique holiday here both in summer and in winter, including a great relaxation factor:
The snow-covered landscape, romantic mountains, warm hospitality and cosiness leave nothing to be desired. A fulfilling day of skiing or snowboarding on the slopes of Finkenberg and Tux during the day and relaxing in one of the many cozy accommodations in the evening - this is what the perfect winter holiday should look like. Tux and Finkenberg offer everything your heart desires. Be it in the Ski Zillertal 3000 area (Finkenberger Almbahnen, Rastkogelbahn, Eggalmbahn) or on the Hintertux Glacier, the Zillertal systems bring you up to 3250 meters above sea level and thus offer absolute snow security (on the glacier all year round, by the way!). 199 kilometers of slopes or 604 hectares of slopes and 66 lifts (Ski Zillertal 3000) or 51 km and 18 lifts on the glacier provide the necessary variety. On the “Schwarze Pfanne” valley run from the Gefrorene Wand at 3250 m to the valley to Hintertux at 1500 m, you will conquer a total of 1750 meters in altitude over 12 km. Cross-country skiers also get their money's worth in the rear of the Zillertal. Between Tux-Vorderlanersbach and Madseit there are 14 km of classic cross-country trails and a 14 km of skating track. There are also 68 km of cleared winter hiking trails for winter hikers. And of course a hearty toboggan run is part of it. With the Bichlalm in Hintertux, the Höllensteinhütte in Lanersbach and the Grieralm in Juns you are spoiled for choice. Ice skating and curling are also offered on the natural ice rink in Lanersbach. But there is also a lot else to do in Tux-Finkenberg. In winter, for example, the Tux ski schools provide the spectacular ski show "The color of snow", which is performed on several dates. Great lighting effects, hot music and a lot of variety ensure an incomparable event in the Arena Hinteranger in Tux-Lanersbach. Every day there is a lot going on in the Zillertal après-ski bar. In the Hohenhaus Tenne, located directly at the valley station of the glacier, the stars gave each other the handle. There is live music almost every day. For example, Olaf Henning, Helmut from Mallorca, Antonia from Tyrol or Markus Becker ensure a party atmosphere and many catchy tunes. The “Kölsche Winterwoche”, which brings the carnival from Germany to the Zillertal, is now also leg
One of the five side valleys of the Zillertal leads from Mayrhofen into the Tuxertal. From Finkenberg via Vorderlanersbach, Lanersbach, Juns and Madseit it goes to Hintertux, from where you get to the Hintertux Glacier. The track runs all year round, and skiing is possible in both winter and summer. The Hintertux Glacier is the only year-round ski area in Austria. Whether skiing or not, you should experience the glacier - 3000 meters above sea level - once. Europe's highest show cave, the Spannagel Cave, is located on the Hintertux Glacier. With a measured length of approx. 12.5 km, it is considered the largest rock cave in the Central Alps, 500 meters of which can be viewed in the entrance area during a guided tour. You will get to know geological features such as stalactites, marble inclusions and glacier mills. In the Nature Ice Palace - also on the Hintertux Glacier - you get deep insights into the eternal ice. The entrance to the Nature Ice Palace is only a few minutes' walk from the mountain station of the Glacier Bus 3. On a guided tour you will explore the accessible crevasse with magical ice stalactites, huge ice crystals, frozen waterfalls and a glacial lake. The Tux-Finkenberg holiday region promises gentle relaxation with long-term effects in summer. Not only are there 350 km of well-marked hiking trails available, the glittering mountain lakes and cozy refreshment stops in the rear of the Zillertal are unparalleled. In addition to gentle relaxation in the imposing mountains, the region also offers sporting highlights such as canyoning, climbing, mountain biking and paragliding. The thermal outdoor swimming pool in Hintertux or the outdoor adventure pool in Finkenberg provide for cooling. The Finkenberger Almbahnen will also take you to the summit in summer and winter, and hikes lasting several hours will take you to the Rastkogel, for example. When you reach the summit, you will be rewarded with a wonderful view of the Inntal, Zillertal and Tuxertal valleys. From the middle station you get to the Penken Nature Trail, an educational hike for the whole family. The Tuxbach adventure trail, a valley hiking trail with various adventure stations, offers a great combination of play, sport and nature. On the one hand, the children's imagination is stimulated, on the other hand, they are sporty and challenged with their dexterity on the curve slide, the Tarzan cable car, in the adventure stable and much more. In general, there is a varied program for the children every day, and in bad weather the little ones can really let off steam in the Playarena Tux.
