Children on the mountain
Most mountain railways offer the little visitors fun and games in the form of spacious playgrounds, so it is always worth taking the gondola. The Ice Palace and the Glacier Flea Park on the Hintertux Glacier in particular are very popular, and the Spieljochbahn has a children's climbing garden, barefoot path and “monster scooters”. The Adlerbühne and the sensory games on the Ahorn in Mayrhofen are also a must-see. The "Murmelland" on the Zilleraler Höhenstrasse is very popular with children.
Are you on vacation with your children, but would like to have a few hours to yourself? No problem - ask your landlord or local tourist office, an experienced babysitter will be happy to arrange for you. There is a guest kindergarten with a baby crib in Mayrhofen, and an entire children's area with professional care and a varied program in Tux. In addition, there are children's programs at the tourist offices in Zell, Mayrhofen and Fügen in summer.
There is also a lot to see and do for young people. The 'M-Town-Bowl' in Mayrhofen is the largest skate park in the valley, the leisure park in Zell offers beach volleyball, an outdoor pool, fun court, mini golf, tennis and much more. There is also a 'Gotcha' park - in the mountaineering village of Ginzling. Gerlos has its own leisure program especially for teens, the 'Teenie Action Program'.
Children's ski courses
Skiing has to be learned! The Zillertal ski schools are known for their quality. In every region of the Zillertal there are several ski schools that offer children's ski courses. In addition to learning the basic skiing techniques, the focus is on having fun. All ski areas offer significantly reduced ski pass prices for children and young people. There are several very flat children's lifts for the very young skiers.
Attractions with children
Children's playgrounds can be found in every village. The natural playground "Wasserwelt Brindlang" in Mayrhofen with water games and mini golf course nearby, the playground in Schlitters, which impresses with its variety of play equipment, and the adventure playground in the Zell amusement park are highly recommended. In Tux there is the "adventure trail" - this family route combines an easy hike through the valley with numerous play options. Action is offered on the Arena Coaster, the only summer toboggan run in the Zillertal.
